- We typically recommend having cabinet colors selected prior to any flooring selections, this will allow you to work around the heart of the home (if you are able to bring samples with you that is super helpful when selecting flooring). Firstly, we would work on selecting the hard surface for the home (this will usually be hardwood, vinyl plank, or laminate).
- Next up is the fun part – selecting tile. This can be a daunting process as there are SO many options available, and any given house can have a range of different tiles. If you think about all the areas this application is used (entry, mudroom / laundry room, bathroom floors, bathroom walls, backsplash, fireplace, feature walls, etc.).
- Lastly, we would move into carpet selection. We do still see a large amount of carpet used in new build homes. It does tend to be the most economical option on stairs and is still sought after in bedrooms and basements for comfort and warmth.
We do encourage clients to take samples of their finishes with them to other selection appointments
